Minotaur is the terminal-native coding and research agent that desktop2.0 sits on. Desktop is the interface and Minotaur is the harness that actually moves the code.

It is repo-first. Instead of stuffing the whole tree into context it loads a bounded set of instruction files explores source on demand and pulls evidence from a flat wiki index. From there it plans the work edits files runs commands and keeps memory of the project across long sessions.

The hard jobs fan out to workers that research explore implement or review. Writers run in isolated worktrees and shell commands fail closed inside an OS sandbox. Every verified state gets checkpointed so if something breaks you can roll it back instead of guessing.

Desktop talks to you with one voice and Minotaur is what that voice is standing on. The loop the tools the workers and the memory all live there.
